Sorry for the late reply,

What's that?

Sorry for the late reply, RICHIE is correct boinc tasks is a more advanced version of boinc manager but uses all the same boinc framework.  It is especially suited for controlling multiple hosts & has been extensively tested in the community.

Well i'm not sure what i'm doing right or wrong but I just attached another PC(a laptop) and received the same error message during the attach process

Sigh... I had a look at the code again and that warning is only triggered when the client's "knowledge" (account and/or client_state XML) about the project's master URL differs from what our server returns (scheduler reply) when client contacts it. The questions are: in which files are the differences and in what do the details differ exactly?

So, regarding the new PC: was it ever attached to A@H before? What are the values of the <master_url> tags in the relevant files of the list I gave you earlier? Please paste (just) those tags here, for each of the files as they exist. It could be that there's a difference in HTTP vs. HTTPS in those URLs for instance.

Thanks,
Oliver

Hi,  This laptop hasn't been

Hi,  This laptop hasn't been touched since it was attached. This is what's in the files you mentioned previously.

This is the first time this laptop has been attached to albert.

account_albert.phys.uwm.edu.xml = *No file*

account_albertathome.org.xml  = <master_url>https://albertathome.org/</master_url>

client_state.xml = <master_url>https://albertathome.org/</master_url>

sched_reply_albert.phys.uwm.edu.xml = *no file*

sched_reply_albertathome.org.xml = <master_url>http://albert.phys.uwm.edu/</master_url>

Hope it helps

Maybe. BoincTasks is doing

Maybe. BoincTasks is doing something different then the regular Manager when attaching? Can you remove Albert@home from this Laptop, make sure all the albertathome files are gone, there is no albertathome.org reference in client_state.xml and add the Project using the regular BOINC Manager again?

The conflict between the

The conflict between the master_url in account_albertathome.org.xml and in sched_reply_albertathome.org.xml is the reason for the message you see. But as Christian already said, we can't reproduce that behaviour with the original BOINC client/manager... Even the filename shouldn't use albertathome.org but albert.phys.uwm.edu - they do on my box...

Please test again without BOINC tasks and detach/remove the project first (check that all files are gone as well).

Thanks

I reattached using boinc

I reattached using boinc manager and everything is working just has it should. With no problems or warnings since. Strange though as I have attached to many other projects using boinc task in the past with no problems but I think this is the first time I did so using HTTPS instead of HTTP,  so maybe there is a problem using boinc tasks when attaching to projects that use HTTPS?

EDIT: To test this I detached again & then reattached this time using boinc tasks just as I did before and sure enough I am now receiving the same warning message as I did before.  So it seems BT does have a problem with HTTPS.

Thanks for all your time & help guy's,  I will mention this to Fred(the coder of boinc tasks) in the forums on his site.

Again Thanks :)

It's probably not the usage

It's probably not the usage of HTTPS itself, but rather the difference between the master_url and the project URL used during sign-up (albert.phys.uwm.edu vs. albertathome.org).

If you're interested in pinpointing the issue please remove A@H once again try to attach using the following two URLs (individually, detaching in between):

I expect that "BOINC Tasks" presents a warning for the first one but not for the second. FYI, I slightly changed the master_url setup on our server which is why the second form should now work without a warning, despite triggering one in your earlier attempts. If I'm correct, it's not HTTPS itself but the URL difference which works for BOINC but not for BOINC Tasks.

Thanks

You are indeed 100% correct

You are indeed 100% correct Oliver.  When using boinc tasks the first gave the warning & second worked fine, nice work!  I'll pass it on.

Thank you kindly for all your help
