- As requested by me in the original Albert Drupal test, please show either who posted the thread originally, or perhaps even who posted last in it. Just a bit of information towards the user, does he want to go into that thread or not, is the first post of someone he wants to read or not?

- I can't add/remove someone from the user ignore list as the link to the ignore list isn't available in the user preferences. It's only available on someone you ignore, and to go actively seek them out is something that goes against the use of the ignore list.
But why have an ignore list when I can't see who posted what in the forums, who started a thread? When someone on my ignore list started a thread, why would I want to open that thread then?

- Ah, the auto-empty line-whitespace when doing a single carriage return (Enter) is still here. Why? Why can't I just put an Enter down to start on a new line, why does it need a white space between my last line and the next new one? Can't even do a backspace as that eats the white line and then we're just at the end of the last sentence again. So, am I to write all my posts in Notepad first then? Now, when copying over a not yet posted post into Notepad, it shows all the emptyness, and makes such a pre-post look like a news message from CNN or BBC, where they also write in only single or double sentences before a totally unnecessary white space is thrown in.

- Doing a carriage return stops showing the cursor, you'll have to guess where it is now.

- My website language is set to American (English?), with no way to change it. But that's probably down due to no other translations being available. However, US American English? Why not just show English? Why the need to show an US American flag? That may be an offence in some countries.

- To change my password at http://albertathome.org/account/info/edit, I have to fill in my new password twice and then use my old password to get it to do the change. Can't I just have it make the change?

- Whenever I want to change anything else at http://albertathome.org/account/info/edit, the first 'change password' box is always filled with an obscured password.

- BBCode in my profile window http://albertathome.org/account/profile shows escaped (not activated).
It ain't HTML either what's needed here, so what is?
Oh, WYSIWYG? So everyone, go change your profile, as codes no longer work.

- The numerical captcha in Account->Profile is half the time illegible, and I am with my nose against the screen, reading glasses on. Can't read it.
Comeon, who can read this? Having had 3 of those in a row, it gets bitterly annoying to try to put a profile in. Can't even delete the thing without putting the captcha in.

- Different ways to save changes. In Account->Preferences, we can just click "Save changes", in Account->Profile we need to fill in a fuzzy numerical captcha, in Account->Credentials we need to fill in our password. Can't we have one method of saving the changes and stick with that?

- How did I get userID #54658 here at Albert? I'm #7430 at Einstein, so even if the database was 1on1 taken over, I would've been something similar here. Else, having signed up pretty quickly at the beginning of Albert testing, I would've expected to have a lower userID. Did 54,500 spammers sign up, or were people with negative comments on the first Albert Drupal test smited and put at the back of the row? Guess my next ID is over a million then.

- The search is a bit weird. Why do I have to put in a search word first and can I only sort by relevancy, name, etc. after it's come back with a search result? Now I have to search at least two times, and given that this may be a hit on the database, there's a chance that you're going to add a given waiting time between searches in the future (after some bots spent doing back-to-back searches that slowed everything down. Wouldn't be the first time). Can't I just have the search options, filter by location, by date, by relevancy at the start search screen?

- Copying and pasting needs to be done using keyboard controls. Righ-clicking on this answer screen when it is empty doesn't give a 'paste' option (Pale Moon 64bit, (is a Firefox clone)). The paste option only becomes available when text is already in the window. See this image for what a right-click does on an empty window.

I must honestly say, I don't

I must honestly say, I don't like this forum editor. Too many options, too much clutter. Also, having to write half my texts in Notepad, to be able to write a bit normal, too much collateral.

Also not nice is that the spell-checker of the browser doesn't work in this window. So great, spealing erorrs hear u com.

If you wanted to add something then anyway, do emoticons. But weirdly enough, those are missing from the option bar. Can't check if they're there under Filtered HTML as switching to that option now will render my input window broken, all white, nothing to do there. All text gone.

What's with the Path: p at the bottom of this forum editor? And why do some of those options, for instance http://albertathome.org/sites/all/libraries/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/media/media.htm?l need to open a separate (pop-up) window? I can't right-click on them to open them in a separate tab either.

The most funny one is this one though (the last button):

Yay, great, just doing a preview on this text and now I see that all my single line breaks have become double line breaks.

I found that the amount of

I found that the amount of post views was informational. But sadly lacking here.

After having posted, or after having chosen a thread to read, there is no immediate 'go back to "Problems and Bug Reports" forum index' or 'go back to main forum index' option around, so we always have to load the long way around -> Community -> Choose forum, or use our backbutton, or open the forum in one browser tab, then start opening threads in separate tabs.

Main page light grey text is incorrect about:
Click on the "report" button at the bottom of the post to call it to the attention of the moderators. -> the button is at the top.
These message boards now support BBCode tags only. -> you also support WYSIWYG and according to the Filtered HTML blurb, HTML codes.

I can report my own first post in the thread, but not any others further down below.
When reporting, that's all I can do, I don't have to give a reason for it. Why not?
It's nice to be able to cancel the report, but what does that do on the moderator end? Does the moderator get an email from the report, does he then also get one for the retracted report?

I miss the http://albertathome.org/community/moderation page. See https://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/moderation.php for its example.
Similarly missing is http://albertathome.org/community/moderator_instructions See https://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/moderator_instructions.php for its example.
Unless of course, you want to do away with the posting rules?

Edit: for the sake of editing.

Edit2: perhaps you want to show that the post is edited when it is edited. Either by stating at the top that the post was edited and at what time and date, or with a red line at the bottom, showing who edited it and at what time and date.

When a moderator edits the post, perhaps make the moderator show why he edited the post.

When a moderator edits the post --assuming he's able to do so-- do we get an email about that?

Do we have unlimited edit time? BOINC forums only allow an hour.

At the top of the thread under the thread name there are breadcrumb links to go back to the current forum or to the top forum, ie either to "Problems and bug reports" or to "Forums".

Ah true. Yet then it would be nice to have a "Go to top" link at the bottom of every post. And also have the forum link at the bottom of the thread. We still have to constantly scroll back to the top of the page.

The breadcrumb links aren't there when you're in an answer window, by the way. So then you still have to use the 'around-way' when you want to check something (in another thread/forum) in a new tab.

@everyone: who else is having this problem? I just tried it myself and cycled through about 30 CAPTCHAs (house/mailbox numbers, street view?) - I was able to easily read 90% of them.

Thanks,

In general, yes. However, the examples you give are special. The CAPTCHA is needed to protect against spammers abusing the profile feature (so does BOINC). Changing the credentials is curcial and thus we require you to enter the password to authorize the change.

First of all, your Drupal user ID is independent of your BOINC user ID. That is, your BOINC account has been (partially) imported into Drupal, hence the different ID. Also, this system has been built from scratch and is thus totally independent from the earlier beta test system.

I opened ticket DBOINCP-151 to add the BOINC user ID to the account credentials page though.

Best,

That seems to be a Firefox issue. Chrome and Safari recognize the editor being an editor. Firefox only arrives at that conclusion when you put the cursor on text, otherwise it treats it as a normal webpage. You may try it again with WYSIWYG (rich text) switched off as soon as that feature is available (see editor-related tickets above).

FYI, that photobucket site just displays a grey area where the image should be, regardless of the browser I use (but the ads all work fine).
