And since the work that ran on my CPU was canceled, I guess I'll never get credit here to post anywhere else than here in the P&BR forums, ey? ;-)

http://albertathome.org/workunit/9357 and http://albertathome.org/workunit/9563 were just a waste of electrons then. ;-)

Ah yeah and the ATIOpenCL app doesn't work on Windows 7. But you'd established that already. Can someone reset my quota and please take off the need for credit over on the 'main' forums?

Them troubles...

Funny things those preferences.

1. I can set on this project not to use any hardware and it'll follow that:
Use CPU --> No
Use ATI GPU --> No
Use NVIDIA GPU --> No
Run only the selected applications
Binary Radio Pulsar Search --> Yes
Gravitational Wave S6 GC search --> Yes
testing... --> Yes
Run CPU versions of applications for which GPU versions are available -> No

These settings are allowed. They shouldn't be. You can't and not choose CPU and not choose GPU at the same time. What should work run on then?

2. Due to some sort of bug in the back-end software, you can set a venue for the computer on the Project Preferences site, but you cannot set your computer to that same venue. The following fields are missing on the computer lists:

Quote:
Last time contacted server
% of time BOINC client is running
While BOINC running, % of time host has an Internet connection
While BOINC running, % of time work is allowed
Task duration correction factor
Location
Merge duplicate records of this computer

I don't know about the

I don't know about the preferences yet, but the hosts page should be fixed now.

BM

Edit: I intend to do some forum reconfiguration & cleanup, but not before the DB backup is working for this project.

Looks like that's going to block me asking for work then.
So I set Use CPU to no and Use ATI GPU to Yes.

I'm also testing the feature in cc_config.xml, set it with Albert, see if it wants to go get work for the ATI GPU now. It does, but then I am blocked by the low quota. So I can definitely report to the BOINC devs that this feature doesn't work yet. ;-)
