Hi,
Sorry to hear about server crash. Hope you get it fixed ASAP and without any damage to data etc.
Once thing: Can your webmaster sort out some of the links here, as there are still section pointing to the old website:
Such as this: Link at bottom right goes to "Server status" which IS working...but coming back from that page by clicking on (say) "Your Account" takes you to this:
https://albert.phys.uwm.edu/home.php page
And that now returns this:
WARNING: This website is obsolete! Please follow this link to get to the new Albert@Home website!

Thank you.
So, a few links need some attention please :)

Tim

)
Your forums now seem to assume some language (probably French) for users who aren't logged in, and initially use some order for the threads in the forums that is close to, but not quite, oldest first. Clicking on the Forums column header appears to switch the order to fully oldest first, with no way to switch to the newest first order that lets users read the newest threads without a LOT of scrolling to the end of the threads list. Users who ARE logged are able to switch the order to newest first, though. Also, no way seems to be provided to allow users who aren't logged in to switch what language is used - clicking on the flag icon seems a reasonable way to do this, but it does nothing instead.
Clicking on Edit to make small changes in my messages posted is so slow to do anything that I was about to start another message saying that Edit doesn't work at all.
The messages sent through Notices under BOINC Manager have arrived repeatedly for each of my computers - at least three time for each of them so far. Once per computer should be enough.

@UBT: "Your Account" is the only debatable one, "Home" already returns to the new home, "Message boards" points to the old forum (on purpose). Keep in mind, this is a test project and even the account link is used to test the lock-out :-)
@DrWhoFan: thanks we're aware of that and we use different means to run updates.
@Robert: thanks for the feedback. The localization seems to be affected by the server crash where we lost some important internal data/settings. FYI, the language for not-logged-in users is determined by your browser/OS settings (if properly recognized). The flag symbol is just meant as an indicator. Robert, do you still see these issue? I think we fixed the problem on Jan. 13th. Please removed cached data/cookies from your browser for this site and also ensure that you load the frontpage without any language specification in the URL (first path component).
We'll look into the other issues.
Update: I looked into the localization issue once again and it's indeed an open issue in the Drupal core. We put a workaround in place...

I can't reproduce that:

I can't reproduce that either. Clicking on edit is as fast as any other major feature of the community forums here - under a second (incl. the DE -> US -> DE roundtrip). Not blazingly fast but this site isn't tuned for performance as has very limited resources.

We use a standard RSS feed for that purpose, set up to be queried once per day. If you look at its content you'll see that it only contains the three most recent news items with their correct publication dates. Not sure why the BOINC manager displays them more than once in your case.
Update: please watch out for this one as it could be related to the language negotiation issue above. Despite the RSS feed item's GUID and publication date being unaffected, the referenced links could change because of the issue. So, depending on BOINC's duplication detection mechanism this could have caused multiple entries. You should be able to tell that by looking at the "read more" link at the bottom of each entry. If that's not in English or takes you to a different translation than the duplicate(s) it would kinda confirm my theory. However, any new requests should result in default language (english) replies now so you might not be able to reproduce it anymore...

My hosts have been receiving "database server crash" feed multiple times also (at least once per day). Now I checked that "read more" link and it was english... (but my language preference is "American flag" anyway).
In the Boinc Manager there is that "other options" and "Notices reminder interval". Well, I found out I had it set at "6 hours". If I change that to "1 week" should that change this more-than-once thing somehow?
I honestly don't know. It's
)
I honestly don't know. It's just a plain RSS feed and its content is as expected. I have no idea how BOINC distinguishes feed items (what creates the duplicate). The workaround above should have eliminated any possibility for duplicates. The refresh interval shouldn't be relevant here...
