Hi!

I was wondering is it only me or is it normal situation at the moment. Today and yesterday my BOINC hasn't received any tasks from Albert@Home. I have tried the "update" but scheduler doesn't send anything (but it does send for Einstein@Home etc.). I haven't changed any preferences or configuration from an earlier situation when everything was "working". I know there isn't always work units available on this project. But I think it's a little bit difficult to be sure of that... for example, if I look at this site:

http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/user/detail/2874032/projectList

I have never seen the status schedulers colour balloon go yellow or red for Albert@Home. At the moment it is green like always and info text says "work available". And I know... that site doesn't have anything to do with this project. I don't blame or anything. I'm just curious: Is there any reliable "real time" way of knowing if Albert@Home actually has work available or not. Could you include some kind of real-time info colour dot on this site (on the main page) ... that would represent the current state of work available? Or is it a bad idea, I don't know?

Thanks and kind regards

I have been trying for over 3

I have been trying for over 3 days to get work, finally getting a work unit for the new Gravitational Wave S6 Follow Up #1 v1.02 on each of my two computer currently running this project (1 for each).

I had a couple of these the other day (v1.01) and all failed, posted about it but heard nothing, no response at all.

I can't get any Binary Radio Pulsar work units no matter how hard I try, even though there is over 9,370 work units available, and has been for the last 4 days at least.

It would be nice to hear from admin occasionally as to where they are up to and how our help in testing is going.

"Gravitational Wave S6 Follow

"Gravitational Wave S6 Follow Up #1 v1.02"

Alright, I changed my project preferences and managed to get some of those now. I don't know how often this following page is being updated...

https://albert.phys.uwm.edu/apps.php

... but I see now the BRP X64 work units have disappeared from the list. Propably that stuff became tested enough and now it's time for something else. That gives me a bit of melancholic feeling because I liked to see those X64's come and go on the BOINC manager list :) They took so nice time to complete. But on the other hand, in my computer they slowed down Nvidia GPU work with Einstein@Home somewhat. SSE's do not seem to have that effect.

So, I also have here two computers now running this "Gravitational Wave S6 Follow Up #1 v1.02" . Interesting to see how those v1.02 work units will end up.

The server status page

The server status page (linked from the main page bottom right) gives some hints to what's available and not but it doesn't speak the whole truth as Conan said. It's updated every 10 or 20 minutes.

What I gather from it is that there are work available for the following searches:
BRP4G = Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo, GPU), GPU only
BRP5 = Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Perseus Arm Survey), GPU only
S6BucketFU1UB = Gravitational Wave S6 Folllow-up #1, CPU only

There also seems to be tasks available for the BRP4 search but I suppose the scheduler is configured not to send out work for that search at the moment as that number hasn't change since sometime this past summer.

Sorry for being rather silent

Sorry for being rather silent right now but we're busy preparing the S6 follow-up run you already started to help testing. Please bear with us.

Thanks,
Oliver

The scheduler should be

The scheduler should be configured to ship any available work for a given app that matches your machine. We'll look into it as soon as we can.

The only tasks available for

The only tasks available for ordinary CPUs atm. are S6BucketFU1UB, and these are produced in charges that are likely too small for the requests. We are currently testing this application with highest priority. BRP4 tasks are currently only shipped to ARM devices (Android etc.).

Tasks have been flying

Tasks have been flying smoothly to my computer now. No problems of getting enough work from scheduler. Everything is OK.

On two rigs I am not getting

On two rigs I am not getting new work for Albert@home. Is that normal or is it something at my end?

Einstein@home is working fine.

Thanks.

I can't get work either, just

I can't get work either, just asking for NV and ATI/AMD GPU work, no CPU, all work types enabled in preferences.

Hi! Is there a way to get rid

Hi! Is there a way to get rid of the "(reached daily quota of 32 tasks)" ? One of my computers is able to get work that much per day. Then it keeps getting that message if I click update. There is no other work in line that would restrict anything in that way and I don't remember setting any limitations. I have set that computer to keep work for 5 days, but it refuses to keep work for Albert more than 32 tasks per day. This has been happening for some time (I don't remember exactly how long).
